Guidelines for Reviewers

A guide for reviewers

 

  1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

 

1.1 This regulation establishes the procedure for reviewing articles for publication in the publications of the educational institution "International Transport and Humanitarian University".

1.2 The review is aimed at improving the quality of the preparation of scientific articles.

1.3 All materials submitted to the editorial office of the journal "Industrial Transport of Kazakhstan" and corresponding to its subject matter are reviewed.

1.4 The article is accepted for consideration in the journal "Industrial Transport of Kazakhstan", provided that it meets the requirements for the design of articles specified in the Rules for authors.

1.5 The review is conducted by the members of the Editorial Board.

Reviewers must be recognized experts on the subject of peer-reviewed materials and have an h-index (Hirsch index), an academic degree of candidate of technical sciences or Doctor of Philosophy, as well as have at least one article in publications included in the international databases of Web of science, RSCI or Scopus and at least two articles in publications included in the list of publications recommended by the Committee for Control in the field of education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the publication of the main results of scientific activity over the past three years.

 

  1. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CONTENT OF THE REVIEW

 

2.1. The review should contain a qualified analysis of the article's material, an objective reasoned assessment of it and reasonable recommendations.

2.2. In the review, special attention should be paid to highlighting the following issues:

1) general analysis of the scientific level, terminology, structure of the article and relevance of the topic;

2) assessment of the readiness of the article for publication in terms of language and style, compliance with the established requirements for the design of the materials of the article;

3) the scientific nature of the presentation, the conformity of the methods, techniques, recommendations and research results used by the author with modern achievements of science and practice;

4) compliance of the volume of the article as a whole and its individual elements (text, tables, illustrative material, bibliographic references) with the established requirements. Recommendations on the rational reduction of the volume (specify at the expense of which element of the article);

5) the expediency of placing tables, illustrative material in the article and their correspondence to the topic being presented;

6) inaccuracies and mistakes made by the author.

2.3. The reviewer should give recommendations to the author on improving the quality of the manuscript. The comments and suggestions of the reviewer should be objective and principled, aimed at improving the scientific and methodological levels of the manuscript.

2.4. The final part of the review should contain reasonable conclusions about the article as a whole and a clear recommendation on the expediency of its publication in a specific scientific field corresponding to scientific specialties approved at a meeting of the Editorial Board of the journal.

2.5. In case of a negative assessment of the manuscript as a whole, the reviewer must justify his conclusions.
